Kapil Dev Sindhu, born in the semi-urban city of Moradabad, India, rose above socioeconomic challenges to become a distinguished atmospheric scientist. His academic journey includes a Ph.D. from the prestigious Indian Institute of Science Bangalore, where he specialized in atmospheric science, following a Master’s in Physics from IIT Roorkee. His research contributions are vast, spanning projects like the INDO-UK INCOMPASS, FAAM Aircraft Observations, and the Cloud Seeding Experiment for the Government of Karnataka. As a Post-Doctoral Researcher at McGill University, he made significant strides in atmospheric convection, validating the RKW theory of squall lines.
